Who is Vinster for?
I answered this question once by saying that I’d built Vinster for myself, it was for me. I get how that sounds like stale marketing pitch, and that’s how my reply was received, but really it’s the truth.
I joined the London wine trade back in the days when we picked up the phone to speak to our clients, I wrote the wine department copy for Harrods’ first website. I have lived through the integration of tech in wine and have enjoyed countless hours on wine websites, some better than others, but a wine app has never been able to hold my attention for more than a hot flash – though in my experience hot flashes are more engaging.
When I set out to build a wine app that served ‘me’ I really was setting out to build a wine app that collectors including myself would find genuinely useful. It had to serve their passion and enhance their experience of wine. I identified four areas that cover a collector’s needs: Reviews, Pairing, Cellaring, and Sharing. I felt that I had as good a shot as anyone to properly, finally address them through an app.
So, who is Vinster for? It’s for me, and if you love wine and all the joy that comes with it, it’s also for you.
