Vinster is entirely vibecoded, by a mother of two young children in her home office in Suffolk. With not much technical experience, but a 20 year career in fine wine behind her, the founder started with one niggling question: how can I guide people to feel more in control of their wine choices at restaurants?

What started as a single function wine list scanner - a pretty awesome one, mind - has become a wine app with incredible depth and range. One which offers unique features that rival any app currently available in the wine space.

From restaurant list scanning, users can review the wines they chose and the restaurants they drank them in, sharing along the way with friends and within Vinster’s soon to be built Community. Vinster can also scan a label from a retail shelf, or anywhere, and give you the most up to date market and general intel on the bottle - giving you the option to dive deeper into specifics.

For home cooks, Vinster will generate original, chef inspired recipes to match to a wine you’ve chosen - or it will work the other way around and find a wine from your cellar or the market at large to pair to a recipe of your choosing.

Users can build out their wine cellar within the app - importing celler documents and even receipts to upload. Cellars can be organised into bespoke folders users can photograph their home storeage and bottles for in-app grids that mirror them and show label thumbnails. Even archive bottles by photographing bottle lineups - Vinster can see which bottles are yours and will keep the lineup photos in a dedicated library, like a diary.

Finally, the more you engage with Vinster, the more it gets to know you. This understanding feeds in to the recommendations it makes for you and it also allows Vinster to sketch your wine and foodie ‘Personality’ which it regularly updates. These humourous roasts form part of Vinster’s quirky approach and are one of the many features that set it apart.
